Choices Project
The Life
Choices
Project offers educational curricula, workshops, support groups and
counseling aimed at reducing pregnancies and sexually transmitted
diseases among teens and preteens. Topics covered include puberty,
hygiene, self-esteem, human sexuality, contraception, relationships,
sexual decision-making and more. The Life Choices Project also
provides a parent series to increase parent-child communication.
Prevention Specialists are available to teach parents and children
at the public schools, after-school sites, community centers,
churches and corporations. Our curricula is age specific, culturally
sensitive and flexible in order to meet the needs of a diverse
student population, parents and the host organizations. The Life Choices Project
annually reaches over 2,500 teens and preteens in
Greater Bridgeport.

Teen
Leadership Program
Funded by
the Connecticut Department of Social Services, the Teen Leadership
Program is designed to give teens with leadership skills and
abilities an opportunity to take advantage of and improve those
skills and abilities. Teens between the ages of 15-18 are eligible.
They must also be available to attend weekly training sessions and
assist with a GBAPP after school program for younger children.
Other peer membership positions in the community may be also be

"Carrera
Model"
Started in October of
1998, this comprehensive pregnancy prevention program provides
family planning, homework assistance, mentoring, recreational,
health and life skills services to a group of 65 young people
between the ages of 10-16. In the fall of 2007 we incorporated job
club with Career Resources and Community Mentoring with Bassick High
School students. Services are provided at Services are provided at 156 Mill Hill Avenue in Bridgeport.
Teen
Fathers Program
Funded
by the Connecticut Department of Social Services and a grant from
Office of Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (AFL) in collaboration
with the Bridgeport Health Department. This program provides
services to approximately 60 teen dads, teen moms, and their
children in greater Bridgeport.
Teen
Warm Line
The Teen 2 Teen Warm
Line is connected and operating on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:00
p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Questions called in from are youth about dating,
relationships and health are answered by young people.
